Passkeys are patent pending codes that you select and then distribute or share with people. By providing your Passkey to someone, you are giving him an advance acceptance—or “pre-approval”—to connect with you on Linksify.com and view your selected contact profile. Webcards are web pages where you can display selected elements of your contact profile. By distributing your Webcard—a unique web link (URL) with your Passkey embedded—to someone, you are granting him instant access to view one of your permitted contact profiles.
Imagine your contacts as a list of of unrecognizable Passkeys instead of famous names. Imagine your contacts stored and automatically synchrozied in your address books. Imagine more personal Webcard views only from an authorized Passkey and computer or phone.

OpenTable (OPEN) is a real company and the first VC-backed IPO in three quarters and one of only a handful in nearly two years. OpenTable is also trading at its low because of pressure from the usual insider selling in a small float and will soon be the falling knife that is the rest of the recent VC-backed IPOs.
Half of the bankers are gone. Let’s see if the VCs adjust their model when half of them are gone.
After the overwhelming success of the “Cash for Clunkers” program, the next government incentive to save consumers money will debut as early as this fall.
In July, the Department of Energy set aside $300 million in recovery funds as rebates for the purchase of new Energy Star-qualified home appliances.
Each state will be responsible for managing its own rebates, and have the leeway to dictate which types of appliances will be eligible. The DOE recommends that the rebates be spent to subsidize the purchase of heating and cooling equipment, appliances, and water heaters as these
products offer the greatest energy savings potential. Energy Star-qualified appliance categories eligible for rebates include: central
air conditioners, heat pumps (air source and geothermal), boilers,
furnaces (oil and gas), room air conditioners, clothes washers,
dishwashers, freezers, refrigerators, and water heaters, according to the DOE.

Think, the Norwegian electric car manufacturer, has announced that the company has exited bankruptcy and can resume building its latest EV, the TH!NK City.
In addition, the company will be receiving $47 million in venture capital from several investors once the deal closes next week. Among the investors is Valmet Automotive, the same company that signed a deal with Fisker to produce the Karma electric sedan.
The TH!NK City is a fully-developed EV with a 110 mile range, a 62 mph top speed, and an emphasis on safety in its construction. Earlier in the month, the company announced that it’s planning to sell or lease the City EV to corporate fleets, and could make it available via ZipCar or other rental services.

Last year, Iqua introduced the 603 SUN, a solar-powered Bluetooth headset that stays charged indefinitely with moderate use (maybe one or two hours of talk time per day). Now Scosche has announced that the solCHAT, a solar-powered hands-free speakerphone, is now available. The solCHAT features a built-in solar panel that continuously recharges the solCHAT’s lithium-ion battery.
The solCHAT features voice-enabled caller ID that lets you keep your eyes on the road without having to glance at an LCD display. The unit also includes windshield and visor mounting options in the box, along with a USB charging cable and a car adapter for powering the unit directly. The solCHAT costs $99.99 and is now available at Best Buy and direct from www.scosche.com.

“Chicago Cows on Parade” raised $3.5 million for a variety of charities. “Hearts in San Francisco” has drummed up nearly $5 million for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation.
A Sausalito man could put a halt to the $745 million Novato Narrows widening project before the first shovel hits the ground.
It took years, but controversial plans to replace a converted and decaying motor-court motel with a new 36-condominium complex at a flagship corner in downtown San Rafael finally got the blessing of city leaders.
